H. John Hartmann

A 1970 graduate of the Mannes School of Music in New York City, I began working on this symphonic creation in 1987 after receiving the task from Spirit.

It was to be my first orchestral composition and little did I know at the time how I was to receive the inspiration for it. It started as a piano sketch since everything I had written up to that point was mainly for piano.

Nevertheless, and much to my amazement, over the years everything I needed for its 10 sections finally came together in one way or another. Sometimes I would be suddenly and unexpectedly transported into the Spirit and be given a particular vision of creation.

Then, when my consciousness returned to an earthly level, I would find myself filled with the burning desire to describe musically what I was shown in the Spirit and would sit at the piano composing for several days almost nonstop.

At other times I had to live through particular life experiences before the music would start flowing through me. It took close to 30 years before it finally all came together. I had to go through a lot of living, a lot of joy, a lot of suffering, a lot of patience and a lot of blessings to finally realize the fruit.

This composition depicts musically what I see as the primary stages in the development of Earth from its earliest beginnings through the present time and beyond into the New Dawn of the future.

An awareness of this journey is hidden in the inmost depths of us human beings, but which must be brought out through love if we are to realize our greatest potential as individuals and as a species. The purpose of this music is to touch the heart with the uplifting wings of love in a way that transcends, transfigures, and which speaks within the soul as virtue, invoking love, morality, courage and creative inspiration of the highest ideals.

This music is not about relaxation and soothing beauty. It is a message from the Highest Spirit to wake up the souls and consciousness of all creatures on Earth who are sleeping or lost. It is meant to reach every soul that craves for truth, love and peace. It is not to be bought or sold. It asks you to make your contribution to the highest calling and to be on the team to serve the highest purpose of life. Genesis is the music of all of us, the Music of Life itself. May it link us to the Source of Light, the life of man.

In the midnight of darkness while I was holding John’s feet and praying for his recovery from pneumonia in the hospital, I suddenly heard a big choir singing “Hallelujah, Hallelujah……” the same melody as Hallelujah of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, followed by waves and waves of beautiful music with angelic beings singing which I had never heard before.

John transitioned into eternal life with the music at the dawn of December 1, 2020. It was the most beautiful music I have ever heard in my life. And yet, it was the most painful experience in my life losing John physically. On that very same day, I saw the most gorgeous sunset at our farm home as his way of saying I made it to heaven Hun... I'll see you again someday. I Love You!
